Dr Marion Mateos  (MBBS BSc(Med) FRACP PhD) is a Paediatric Neuro-oncologist and Clinical Academic, based at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick and Children’s Cancer Institute. She completed her clinical Oncology fellowship at Sydney Children’s Hospital, a PhD through the University of New South Wales and a postdoctoral Neuro-oncology fellowship in the United Kingdom (2017-9).
Dr Mateos’ expertise is in neuro-oncology clinical trial development, precision medicine and toxicity profiling. CI Mateos has co-led trial development for 2 clinical trials in high-risk cancer, including a world-first clinical trial for children with high-risk brain cancers (ACTRN12623000104651) and an MRFF-funded International Basket Trial (NCT06208657). 
Dr Mateos has a career total 24 peer-reviewed papers including Lancet Oncology, Haematologica, Nature Reviews Cancer, Nature Medicine. Her career total funding exceeds >$11.3M (>$9.05 million as Chief Investigator).
Fellowships: Inaugural recipient of The Kid Cancer Project Col Reynold Clinical Fellowship (2024-7), Cancer Institute NSW Early Career Fellowship (2019-2023). Awards: “SIOP Young Investigator Award 2023” (one of 14 scientists worldwide); “Best Oral Presentation”, Children’s Brain Cancer Conference Brisbane 2023.
